All Rugby Activity at Latton Park Suspended!

This isn’t the news anyone wanted to start the New Year with but with immediate effect all rugby activity at the club is suspended until further notice.

Whilst we acknowledge that at the time of writing Government and RFU guidance allows organised sport for u18s to continue in Tier 4 it is the unanimous opinion of the Clubs Rugby and Executive Committees that against the backdrop of Essex and Harlow experiencing some of the worst COVID-19 infection rates in the UK it would be irresponsible to open the club and carry on as before. The welfare of our players, volunteers, parents/carers and the wider community must be paramount!

It’s been said before but I will say it again. A massive thank you must go to all our members and sponsors who have stuck with us through 2020 and into 2021. Without your monthly membership, 300 club subscriptions and annual sponsorship payments, alongside some very prudent financial planning we really would be in trouble! Your patience and understanding is a virtue and is not underestimated. We will make it up to you!

As I said in my Christmas message we should still look ahead to 2021 with optimism and excitement, we should still go positively into the New Year and when this is all over we will come back better and stronger! It may take a little longer than we had hoped for but the future’s bright, the future’s still red and green!

I will update you as and when we receive further information from Government and the RFU to enable our return to rugby when it is safe to do so.

Any questions please contact me directly.

Pease advise all of your players and parents, as applicable.

Keep Safe, Stay Safe and take care of yourself.
