Give Mini Rugby a Try

Here at Harlow Rugby Club we are keen to get as many kids enjoying mini rugby as possible. That’s why we are running, a free open day for kids under 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 (from 1st September 2017) so kids can come along and “Give Mini Rugby a Try!” on Saturday 22nd July 2017 from 10:45am.

Mini Rugby is for girls and boys aged 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (current school year 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) and all are welcome to come along. If you have children who may be keen to try rugby, please bring them along to give it go and see if they like it. Mini Rugby is a series of simplified versions of rugby to introduce kids to rugby

What do the kids get?

On the day, the kids will be presented with a certificate for taking part, but most of all we hope they leave having had a lot of fun and keen to come along again.

Do I need to sign up in advance?

Please could you email pauloweneynon@gmail.com if you intend to bring your child along. Please include your Childs: Name, Date of Birth, School Year, Address and if they have any medical conditions. This will allow us to pre-populate the permission forms so you have less admin to carry out before your child starts playing on the day.

How do we coach mini rugby at Harlow?

It’s about a kids centric approach so we put what they want at the centre of what we do. Kids turn up because they like playing games, so we’ll play games, we’ll ask them lots of questions, set them challenges and spend more time working in small groups for short periods of time on focused skills. What children learn from Rugby Union is Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. So we’ll encourage the kids demonstrate these traits while they are will us.

What do my kids need to bring?

Just turn up with a drink for your child and make sure they have trainers (or football boots if they have them) and some shorts and a shirt, no need to by boots or any expensive kit at the moment this is just a taster day.

How much does it cost?

This is a one off session just for fun so it is free!

Can I leave my child with you?

Sorry no, not for this session, please stay and watch the session this time.

Who can I speak to?
