A Christmas Message

from your Chair of Rugby

Wow, what a journey we’ve all experienced since the official opening of Latton Park on 2nd September 2017. It’s nearly Christmas and we’ve all got a lot to be grateful for. We’re here, we have a great team and we’re most definitely in business.

We played our first ever floodlit match in August, we hosted our first ever Minis Festival in October and we hosted our first ever International Match in November.

Our Minis section continues to grow and prosper with membership hitting a record 166, our youth section has competitive teams from under 13s to under 16s, our Girls continue to partner with OAs and already have a number of county representative games under their belt and whilst our Ladies continue to struggle with numbers they still battle on.

All of our 3 senior men’s teams won promotion last season and have tackled their early season challenges with a good sense of purpose and vigour. The 1st XV are currently placed 5th in London 2 North East and have progressed to the Semi-Finals of the Essex RFU Intermediate Cup, the Rams are currently placed 2nd in Essex Merit Table Division 2 and the Saints are currently placed 2nd in Essex Merit Table Division 5.

I’m proud of what we’ve all accomplished together. Some clubs wouldn’t have been able to do what we’ve done. So, thanks to you, to the club staff, to the army of volunteers and the players, we’ll be going into the New Year with strength to build on our accomplishments and to consolidate our position.

Now, let’s raise a glass, to us, to our families and a very Happy Christmas.

Good, better, best. Never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best!
Tux
