Saturday was another high point for the men’s teams at Harlow Rugby Club all three sides playing and all three winning. This is part of an ongoing series of results which puts all of the sides at the top of their at the top of their respective leagues by significant margins.

This weekend Harlow 1st XV are at home to Stowmarket in the first of the return fixtures in London III NE and the Rams are at home to Thurrock. Spectators are welcome and admission is free for what should be a great afternoon of rugby.

Harlow playing up the slope kept East London pinned in their own 22.
They were rewarded with a penalty in the first 5 minutes , which Smith converts for a 3 – 0 lead. Very soon after the re-start a wayward pass by Harlow was intercepted by the East London centre and they ran in their first try; Harlow 3 East London 7 when it was converted.

Harlow responded with a great individual run by Weston edging Harlow into the lead, 10 points to 7 with the conversion from Smith. East London capitalised on another Harlow error to score their second converted try and go into Half Time with the. Lead. Harlow 10. East London 14

Throughout the game the Harlow pack had been putting pressure on East London. Their line-out ball was always good with Twiner catching cleanly. They were frequently able to disrupt the visitors scrums and to drive them back in the maul. Seven minutes into the second half Harlow forwards drove back the East London pack and quick ball out to the backs saw sub Ryan McGlone run in Harlow’s 2nd try; Harlow 15 East London 14

Harlow Captain Shaun Roberts was yellow carded for holding back an East London player as they chased down a lose ball. East London took the lead by converting the penalty. Harlow 15. East London 17. The potential advantage to the visitors was very quickly cancelled out when an East London player was also yellow carded.

With 15 minutes to go the Harlow pack drove East London over the line for a push over try, Kain Claridge touching down. Smith Converted

Harlow 22 East London. 17. Hard work in the final minutes saw them hold this lead to the close.
