Match Report

Harlow entertained East London in the Quarter finals of the Essex Cup.

A changed Harlow side saw Ben Seymour, Rhys Whitby, Joel Drake coming into the back line with the return of veteran winger Simon Vanbeck.
Derry Joyce and Mat Wright coming in to the Forward pack.
The game started disappointingly for Harlow with East London pack pressing on the home sides 22 metre line. From a scrum East London’s second row crashed over the line and with this being converted Harlow found themselves 7 – 0  down after only 3 minutes.
Harlow quickly replied with winger Winger Dale Stalley scoring after 14 minutes bringing the score to 5- 7.

Harlow Captain for the day Scott Whitby gathered the ball at the centre of the pitch and made a inspiring run through the East London defence off loading to the supporting Weston who scored Harlow’s second try.  With Ross Stalley converting took Harlow into the lead 12 – 7.
Whitby again opened up the East London defence and scored Harlow’s third try and the conversion by Stalley making the score 19 – 7.
Further tries by Weston & Vanbeck  made the score 29 – 7 at Half Time.

The second Half saw some quick passing by fly half Ben Seymour creating space for Harlow’s back line , allowing Brothers Dale Stalley and Ross Stalley scoring the home sides 6th and 7th try. Bringing the score line to Harlow 41 East London 7.
Unfortunately some lapse defending by Harlow allowed the away side to score 3 late tries bringing the final score to Harlow 41 – East London 24.
