Match Report

Today was a tougher day at the office. We met a very well organised Chelmsford. Strong in their forwards and especially strong in their backs. But Harlow did put up a good fight.

The game opened up with two quick tries. Harlow looked a little shell shocked but rallied. We started fighting back and Chelmsford knew it was not going to be all plain sailing. Our scrummaging was very good. We matched Chelmsford in this department. But against the run of play Chelmsford scored again.

Harlow then spent the best part of 10 mins on the Chelmsford 5m line. Our forwards kept probing but Chelmsford kept defending their try line. Unfortunately we came up short.

Second half started pretty much the same as the first for Chelmsford. Again two quick tries but Harlow again rallied and kept on taking the game to them. Chelmsford used their back well and scored a few more tries to take to 50 points. End of the game.

Despite the result this was one of the best performances Harlow have had this season. In the past we would have dropped our heads but this time we didn’t. The team should be very proud of this fact. Well done Harlow. The Chelmsford coaches praised our boys for putting up a spirited fight. They were impressed.
