Message from U13s Coach

Message from Under 13 Coach Dax Rust

This time last year I was not in a great place and after the passing of my Dad I spiralled into a person who was at a turning point in life and that turn was a real make or break decision in paving my future.
Luckily I took the right turn and with the help of my partner Sarah and the backing of my two sons Jack and Oliver they all got behind me January of this year and said ‘you can do this’.
So my journey started with a personal trainer Gary Stanley who gave me the tools and taught me the mind set I needed to get fit, then I joined my local Park Run in Harlow (now having 19 runs under my belt).
It was at the Park Run I met one of my friends Rebecca who mentioned that she had a place in the London Marathon next year and inspired me to contact Phab Kids and apply for a place.
That seems a long time ago now and with my new running trainers I started the journey with the help of friends who have run alongside me.
My furthest run has been 9.5 miles with lots of 10K runs also under my belt and my favourite run has been with the Harlow Under 13’s Rugby Club where the boys I coach completed the course.
Anyway I will update run information on this page with no doubt sweaty photos and hopefully a smile on my face!
The Phab Kids motto is ‘To make more of a life together’ and with your help you can be a part of this in making it happen so any amount you can afford is much appreciated and will go to great cause.
Thanks again all and hopefully see you at the London Marathon cheering the whole of the Phab Kids runners. Please visit my Just Giving page to help me raise funds for this cause.
