I started playing rugby for my local team, Loughrea RFC in County Galway in the west of Ireland and later played for Galwegians RFC.
At 16 I was invited to join the Connacht youth academy and represented Connacht for both club and school from U17 to U20, winning the interpro series at U19, beating Leinster in the final. The coaching team at the time later went on to coach Connacht to win the Pro12 in 2016.
I took a sabbatical from rugby for a couple of years and then moved to England for work and in 2019. A work colleague, Dougie Reid asked if I would be interested in joining Harlow RUFC and after a few pints with the first XV, I decided the club would be a good fit!
