Rugby Restart and Return to Training

As you are mostly aware the England Rugby discussions with the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and Sport England to accelerate a return to community rugby continue. We have fixtures but do not have a date for when community competitions will restart.

For now we remain at Phase B of the England Rugby roadmap and have planned our return to pitch training accordingly.

Training Commences:
Senior Men – Tuesday 4 August
Youth Boys & Girls – Wednesday 5 August
Colts & Ladies – Thursday 6 August
Minis – Sunday 6 September

We have in excess of 400 players to consider across the club and so to adhere to social distancing protocols and the current restricted activity we have had to be a little inventive in our planning, including staggered arrival and training times. Our foremost thought is everyone’s safety and giving all players the opportunity to train at the club. It’s going to be a little different for everyone; please respect all the hard work that has gone into our plan; the rules and respect each other’s space. The guidelines are non-negotiable and if we are found bending or breaking the rules RFU sanctions will follow.

Please find attached the Harlow Rugby Club Return to Rugby Road Map Phase B, rules, pitch allocation and training schedules for August and September, they are also non-negotiable COVID-19 HRUFC – August and September Return To Rugby Phase B . We will provide further updates, as necessary a) winter training b) when we receive the green light from England Rugby that we have either moved to another phase of the roadmap or c) when the government advises that it is safe for community rugby to restart.

We are hoping to provide coaches, team managers and admins with an induction and walk-through prior to their sections return to the club. I will advise these details in due course, it’s likely to be the week before your return. I will also be at the club for the early sessions to help, advise and ensure things are working to plan!

Hope it all makes sense!

Keep Safe, Stay Safe and take care of yourself.
