This past Sunday, 6th October, the Harlow U14’s girls team had the pleasure to cluster with Woodford, playing Woodford’s first ever girls game on the main pitch in the clubs 100 year history!
The girls did not disappoint showing outstanding teamwork and cohesion resulting in a great game of rugby.
Woodford pulled out all the stops to ensure that this was a day to remember for all the girls with a live scoreboard to display the names of the points scoring players.
Our opposition was a very strong cluster of Old Brentwood/Westcliff/Southend/Thurrock who made a convincing start putting the first points on the board. However this didn’t deter Woodford/Harlow who came straight back with a try after the re-start and settled into playing textbook rugby, giving the team the win come the final whistle.
It was an exciting day for all involved from the girls and coaching team to the spectators who were treated to a fantastic game of rugby.
A big thankyou to the Old Brentwood/Westcliff/Southend/Thurrock cluster, the girls were great to play against
And a massive thankyou to our hosts and teammates from Woodford for all their efforts on the day making it a special occasion for all involved.
This was a great step forward for Girls Rugby
