Earlier this year England Rugby launched their annual competition giving grass roots teams their chance to play at Twickenham, the Home of England Rugby as part of their Play Together, Stay Together initiative. To win one of 4 coveted places in the Twickenham Takeover 2025, teams needed to showcase how they go the extra mile to get adult players on to the pitch.
Harlow Ladies player Nicole Livingstone entered on behalf of the team. Her entry mentioned our dedicated coaching team who work across women’s and girls rugby, the support network the women’s team are for each other, the team work on creating a brand new women’s tournament, and that our team is made up of players aged 18-50+ with a range of experience with initiatives for supporting girls who want to age up as just some of the ways we’re getting adult players out on to the pitch.
Long story short, the judges were very impressed and chose her entry as the winner for the South East section – we’re shocked and incredibly excited!
On Sunday 27th April 2025, Harlow Ladies will be playing in Twickenham Takeover 2025 against teams from the north, midlands, and southwest. Everyone is welcome, so please come along, show your support and watch Harlow Ladies make club history as the first Harlow Ladies team to play on the hallowed turf of Twickenham!
England Rugby are confirming the final details of the day, and more details will be available shortly.
