After four years in the role it’s with some sadness that the club have accepted the decision of Senior Men’s Head Coach, Michael Weston to stand down at the end of the 2024/25 playing season and when his contract expires in June.
In Michael’s own words “With our family growing and a new baby arriving that month, I’ve made the decision to step back and focus on this next chapter. This hasn’t been an easy decision, as Harlow Rugby Club has been such a big part of my life. I am incredibly grateful for the experiences I’ve had here and the friendships I’ve built, and I truly appreciate the support from the players, staff, and everyone involved in the club. I am proud to leave the 1st team in a much better place than it was four years ago when I became head coach.”
The club certainly echo’s Michael’s sentiments and thank him for all he’s done for the club, being instrumental in getting the Men’s 1st XV playing a style of Rugby that we should all be proud of and competing at the top of L6 Rugby for the last two seasons. We all wish Michael, Lauren and their growing family all the best for the future.
Ian Rundall will now step up after being promoted to Senior Men’s Head Coach for the 2025/26 season. This appointment is well deserved and will provide a level of consistency and continuity for the way forward. Further coaching appointments and announcements will be made in due course.
We look forward to giving Weston a great send off on Saturday against Eton Manor. See you all there.
