Message from the Chair: Paul Eynon

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year!  I hope you have had a restful time with family and are raring to go into 2026.

We start the new year by thanking Ken Potter and Dougie Brown for their service as Club Secretary and accounts payable respectively. Both gentlemen have stood down from their roles after providing exemplary support to the club over many years. We thank them both for their outstanding service to our club.   We welcome on board Daniel Hull who will be helping take over from Dougie and with our financial management.

We are looking for help with the Honorary secretary role – please take a moment to look at the details of the role below. Without a club secretary we are in breach of our club constitution, so it is essential we fill this role ASAP.

We have been seeking a Chair of Rugby this season, advert below, if you know someone or would like to get involved, please let me know.

A word of caution, with our limited resources please be patient in how much the Executive can support all the activities at the club, expectation often outweighs our ability to support all the activities we would like to deliver despite our desire to be there for everything.   As we once sang, the more we are together, the happier we will be.

A day out at Saracens v Exeter

Thank you so much to our touchline team who organised a great day out to Saracens.  We took 172 supporters of which 62 were players to Stone X, pre match the players took part in training and games, followed by a guard of honour as the players ran out.   The players were an absolute credit to our club. Thank you to the coaches, managers and parents who attended and helped ensure the day ran smoothly. Great to hear you all had a brilliant day on and off the pitch!

JOCA

Thank you to all the club members who took the outdoor dip to support JOCA (Just One Click Away) on 7th December https://jocarugby.co.uk/harlow-rugby-club/  JOCA offer a great deal of help supporting our mental health and to have the opportunity to raise some money to support them was fantastic to see!

Christmas is done! But what a lot happened!

Thank you to our teams who have put on a number of social activities throughout December. Fun has been had at many of the Christmas Parties including our Christmas Eve Bash and Black & White Ball for New Years Eve! We had a fun game on Boxing Day with a number of players coming back from Uni, or getting involved again. It was great to see you all and I hope to see you all on the pitches of Latton Park again soon. If you helped pull these events together, you know who you are, thank you!

Have you joined our match day WhatsApp Group?

URGENT | Chair of Rugby

Since Kev Harman stood down in August, I have been undertaking the role of Chair of Rugby. There is so much more we could do that would make a huge difference in the way we deliver rugby across the club and build and develop our players. I am in need of some help to help deliver all we can and add real value to those who play, coach, manage and referee at the club.

The Chair of Rugby is accountable for the playing and development of Club Rugby; specifically, the recruitment, development and management of players, coaches, managers and referees. The role can be broken down into Strategic, Tactical and Administrative areas and could be undertaken by a number of people willing to work together.

The focus is very much on the Rugby side our operation as such is heavily supported by The Chairs of Rugby sections, Women & Girls Representative, Youth & Mini Chairs. Club Coaches, Captains. Rams, Saints Representatives, Colts Manager, Safeguarding & Welfare Officer, Club Coaching Coordinator, Referees Coordinator. Senior, Youth & Minis Fixtures Secretary Grounds Manager.

As rugby picks up in January, please thank all our members and volunteers who help deliver rugby at Harlow Rugby Club, we simply could not do this without you. Thank you!

Looking forward to seeing you all around the club soon.
