Rochford U15s 0 v 36 Harlow U15s

This game was meant to be a league game but unfortunately Rochford only had 14 players available and therefore conceded the win to us. So we decided to make it a friendly.

Big thanks to Joe Norris for swapping shirts and playing second row for Rochford.
Game started well for Harlow. From the kick off Rochford knocked on resulting in Harlow having the scrum. George Garner picked up the ball from the back of the scrum and ran into contact. George presented the ball back and Connor Clark picked up the ball and ran at full pelt through Rochford defence resulting in scoring under the posts. Connor Ingram made the conversion. 0 – 7. From the restart it was pretty much the same. Good pick up and go from Harlow forwards. Harlow had pushed Rochford back to their 22 and in the resulting ruck Alex Perry was able to pick up the ball and with one side step found an opening and score in the corner. Connor Ingram was very close to a second conversion but the angle was against him.

Rochford were now starting putting up a good defence and when their backs got the ball they moved it well. Also their rucking over was good. The game started to get littered with knock ons. But it wasn’t long before Harlow scored again. From a scrum at Rochford’s 22, George Gazzard passed the ball to Connor Ingram who ran forward and with support from Will Keep and Daniel Keane. Connor off loaded to Will who saw the gap and went for the line. Connor Ingram was successful with his conversation 0 – 22. Harlow also had two tries held up which was a credit to Rochford’s dogged defence

Half Time 0-22

Joe Norris took a well earn rest and Daniel McKenzie took Joe’s place. Logan Thurgood also swapped shirts due to Rochfords hooker taking a knock. Second half started with both teams putting in a good shift. Harlow were slowly taking control and pushed Rochford back. Clever kicking from Connor Ingram resulted in Sam Collins opening up his legs and getting to the ball before Rochford and popping it off to Connor Ingram who scored. Connor again was successful with his conversion. Harlow had one more try in them. From another scrum due to a knock on, Harlow managed to pick and go resulting in George Garner scoring near the posts. Again Connor was successful with his conversion.

Final Score. 0-36
