Prior to the game today Harlow had three league games remaining to complete their league season.
The games are against Rochford who lie third, Old Brentwoods who lie second and Chelmsford who lie in 5th. With Harlow keen to stay top this Sunday’s trip to Rochford was key to taking momentum into next week’s game against Old Brentwoods and completing the season on a high.
A slightly earlier start for our teenagers today kicking off at 10am.
With Kenty & Paul absent, Joe Clarke joined Rundall who took the warm up with the players pre-match. It seemed to focus the players minds because they came out like a steam train and after sucking up 5/6 phases from Rochford and not conceding a meter, the ball was taken blind at the breakdown and finished by Corey Kelman in the corner. Harlow dominance continued for the rest of the half and only conceded meters when their discipline let them down. Further tries from Montelle Levy, Ben Ferrier and Jamie Oliver meant we went into half time 27-0 up.

The half time team talk reflected need to retain possession and bank the meters made rather than throw low percentage offloads.
The second half began as the first half ended with Harlow dominating the scrum and turning over several feeds as a result. Harlow’s ability to identify where the space in attack was too much for Rochford to del with and further tries from Montelle, Kai and Henry secured an excellent win for The Red Men and kept Harlow top of the table with their 100% record still in tact.

Special mentions today for Matt Macfarlane who is really growing into his role in the side, the front row, who’s strength was too much for Rochford to handle and a big stand out was the communication between the players on the pitch today!
