U12s vs haverhill

Firstly thank you to Haverhill for hosting Sunday’s match, we were made to feel very welcome and luckily the sun chose to shine, long may that continue!

Having only 10 players in this newly formed team, this was going to be a massive game for all – players and coaches alike. Bringing only 7 players from last year’s under 11’s and having 3 brand new players, who so far have only trained and had no game time, we decide to play four quarters of 10 mins each way

Half time we found ourselves 4-0 down with the final score being 6-0. The score however doesn’t give content of the game; as the coach of this new team I saw some fantastic tackling from Charlie Nunn, Liam Hirst and Lando Kotze. Not forgetting Matthew Loveday who appeared fearless when faced with the tackles from Haverhill team.

This was matched in effort by some great ball running from the backs and forwards – Jack Harris & Kieran Harris. The work we have been doing with the team around Scrums and Ruck & Mauls was evident on the pitch with some great effort from Max Davies, Mason Rimell and Gabriel Wood.

For Kieran, Torin and Matthew whose first match this was, well done and carry on the good work.

All the boys showed great ability and desire to play the game at a high level. If we carry on in this manner it won’t be long before we are celebrating our first win I believe.
